Didier Grandclaude, associate professor at EM Strasbourg, defended his Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR), at EM Strasbourg, entitled "Des micro-fondations entrepreneuriales individuelles à la dynamique stratégique collective : une approche centrée sur les acteurs", on March 24, 2026.

"On March 24 at 2:00 p.m., I defended my HDR dissertation at EM Strasbourg Business School, entitled: "Des micro-fondations entrepreneuriales individuelles à la dynamique stratégique collective : une approche centrée sur les acteurs".
This work is based on a highly empirical approach, firmly grounded in the field. It draws on three qualitative studies and four action research projects conducted in a variety of organizational settings, including small and medium-sized businesses, mid-sized companies, and public and healthcare organizations. Based on nearly 300 individual interviews, group interviews with 53 participants, approximately 60 days spent attending seminars, workshops, and working groups, as well as thousands of pages of secondary data, our findings enabled us to explore three main research areas: individual entrepreneurial and strategic microfoundations; tensions and transitions between entrepreneurial and strategic logics; and collective strategic dynamics through Open Strategy. Beyond the contributions specific to each of these areas, our findings provide a better understanding of how individual entrepreneurial microfoundations evolve into collective strategic dynamics. This led us to propose a dialogical model of entrepreneurial and strategic dynamics. From a socioeconomic perspective, our research—particularly our action research projects—has also had a significant impact on the organizations involved.
