Our Story

EM Strasbourg Business School was established in October 2007 following the merger of IECS, founded in 1919, and IAE Strasbourg, created in 1956. As the only French business school to be part of an internationally recognized university, EM Strasbourg has been developing on par with its ambitions since 2008.

Our Story - EM Strasbourg

A Unique Model in France

On account of its status, EM Strasbourg draws its inspiration from the Anglo-Saxon model. It is the only business school in France to be part of a university: the University of Strasbourg.

"EM Strasbourg is the only school in France to have chosen to be part of a university of excellence that combines academic quality and professionalism with more than 19 Nobel Prize winners in its history, four of whom are still active."

Babak MEHMANPAZIR, Dean of EM Strasbourg Business School

An International Orientation

Since its inception, the School has sought to develop relationships outside its borders. Located at the crossroads of Europe, EM Strasbourg strives to train managers capable of building their careers both in France and abroad. With a network of more than 240 partner universities, our school gives our students the opportunity to gain real international experience.

Our Commitments

In 2008, the year following its creation, the School signed the UN Global Compact charter and partnership agreement with the French Association of Diversity Managers (AFMD). In 2009, we received the Marianne de la diversité award. Finally, in 2012, we obtained the Diversity Label issued by the AFMD. Just as accreditations attest to the quality of our teaching, these recognitions affirm our values.

A Forward-Looking School

As a business school, we evolve in line with societal, environmental, economic, and technological advances. By doing so, our programs of study reflect these evolutions. Since the start of the 2019–2020 academic year, students have been introduced to practical cross-disciplinary case studies on current issues. To play a role in a globalized world, it is essential to further develop international relations. We allow our students to gain real international experience by studying abroad. In order to develop the multicultural aspect of our school, we welcome students from all over the world every year.
